Procedures and requirements for registering a marriage within the Sefwi Akontombra District.

The District Assembly facilitates the registration and certification of marriages in accordance with Ghana’s marriage laws. Below are the steps to follow when applying for a marriage certificate:

1. Applicants must have already performed their customary marriage before registration.
2. Both the man and woman must appear in person at the Assembly with their respective witnesses.
3. A period of 21 working days will be allowed for verification and publication of the marriage notice.
4. Applicants are required to make the necessary payments to the Assembly for processing.
5. After successful verification, official approval and certification will be granted.
