The Assembly supported the Department to undertake this exercise. The Department of Education has started taking passport pictures of students in preparation towards the 2026 BECE examination.   The Department is currently working on the School Farms Policy which seeks to create farms in various schools in the District. He emphasized.

This policy also seeks to make it obligatory for all individuals and corporate entities to be responsible for the cleaning of their immediate surroundings and enjoins all MMDAs to ensure full implementation within their various jurisdictions.  He added.

It is with this government that our nation has seen ongoing implementation of flagship programmes such as: Feed Ghana Programme (FGP) that Akontombra District has its share with the objective of modernizing farming through innovation, create jobs, ensure food security, and boost agro-industrialization.

The government policy on Feed Ghana in the District is ongoing and under it, 72 communities were sensitized on the feed Ghana Programme.  A total of 604 FBOs have been formed and enrolled into the web based tracker platform and Akontombra district is second in terms of number of FBOs formed and enrolled in the region. The Department of Agric has also undertaken the following activities; Scouting for fall army worms were done during the early stages of the maize. A total of 212Ha of maize farms were affected by the fall army worm. Again, a total of 3,140 farmers were visited by the AEAs during the period under review. 14,645 animals which includes goats, sheep, cattle, poultry birds, and dogs were treated and vaccinated against various disease. The Department of Agric of SADA also supplied 9880 coconut seedlings to 254 farmers across the district. He informed.

Addressing the August house, Honorable Joseph Appiah said that the Youth Employment Agency under the current government continue to work very hard to create more jobs in the country. The Youth Employment Agency has currently employed the youth in Ghana to train them to provide immediate, life-saving first aid and basic support during medical emergencies, bridging the gap until professional paramedics arrive. Under this, 20 youth from Akontombra district have been employed and I hope that more jobs opportunities will be created by the able President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. The interesting thing about this is that they are positioned within our communities (Electoral Areas) and attached to Assembly Members for rapid medical response. 11 youth from Akontombra district have also been absorbed into the prison service under the Youth Employment Agency. He stressed.
